Harbours
Harbours are places of safety. They are also workshops, wildlife refuges and simply the places where I like to stand (or sit) and stare!
Serene or scary, I love harbours; especially those along the Sound Coast of England.
From the shore I feel the impact of the wind and tide to capture that essence which both excites and satisfies. From the water I experience a different world.
From sailing in dinghies as a child, to racing and then navigating cruising yachts and motor boats - those embedded experiences have taught me what matters when it comes to a maritime picture. Not just the facts, but the feelings which range from delight to terror.
Years of photography have taught me that the moment will come. And when it does, to have the courage to capture it for ever and then share it with special people.
